Graduates of 2006 Experience College Success

What are SCCS alumni doing? Everything! SCCS has alumni all over the world. Whether alumni are in college or have already begun their professional careers, we like to hear about them! Look at what a couple of graduates from 2006 are doing.

Ingrid Abudinen
After graduating from SCCS last year, Ingrid Abudinen began attending West Texas A&M located in Canyon, Texas. Since the beginning of her freshman year in college, Ingrid has been working hard to fulfill her college obligations. Last semester, she made the Dean’s List (the college Honor Roll) with a 3.7 GPA. She was also elected Residential Assistant of her residence hall. Residential Assistant responsibilities vary from college to college but, in general, a Residential Assistant is responsible for representing all students living on a floor of a student resident hall and “keeping the peace” by providing a neutral party to resolve conflict situations. She says, “I am just starting off this new and exciting job and well, what can I say? I am extremely HAPPY!”

Ingrid also joined an organization on campus called SIFE, Students in Free Enterprise, which introduces students to the business world and other opportunities. SIFE is the largest student organization in the world with chapters in over 1,800 colleges and universities in forty countries; the Texas A&M SIFE chapter started in 2002. Joining student organizations like SIFE is an important part of your college career because not only does it provide opportunities to meet other students with interests like yours, it leaves you open to additional professional opportunities as your college career continues.

West Texas A&M University is located in the heart of the Texas Panhandle, 12 miles south of Amarillo (population 180,791) in Canyon, a quiet rural community of 13,000. Forty-two buildings, including the first and largest state museum, are located on the 135-acre main campus. Interested in this school? Daniela Roca

Daniela has also recently won an essay contest and was invited to attend an all-inclusive trip as a freshman to a 4-day conference in Chicago! Way to go Daniela

The TCU campus encompasses 268 acres in a residential neighborhood five miles from the heart of downtown Fort Worth, a welcoming city with a vibrant mix of commerce, culture and entertainment. TCU has 7,267 undergraduates attending and provides 100 different undergraduate majors. See more information about Texas Christian University at http://www.tcu.edu/ .
