 Living in Santa Cruz, Bolivia
Most guide books written about Bolivia concentrate on the western highlands with the dramatic backdrop of the Andean Mountains, the high-altitude capital city of La Paz, and the well-known Lake Titicaca. Foreigners have just recently begun to recognize the more underrated eastern lowlands as a tourist destination.

Santa Cruz's lower elevation provides a different climate than the western part of the country. Santa Cruz weather is hot and humid in the summer (October - March) with temperatures typically around 95 degrees F (35 degrees C) and can be quite cold (40 degrees F/ 4 degrees C) with a wet wind in the winter (June - August).
